This
city is famous all over the world for the Etruscan rest found in its
territory, Chiusi is a town rich of culture, it’s an ideal place for
those who loves to be surrounded by history and archaeology.This town has been an important railway link, and this fact allowed many trades. Important for architecture and decoration are the Etruscan hypogeans of the environs (Grave of the Monkey and of the Casuccini Hill of the first half of the V° Sec. B.C. with paintings of funeral plays; Grave of the Granduca; Grave of the Pilgrim, etc.)The Etruscan Necropolis are opened to the public, and it is possible to enter in the Grave of the Leoneed and in that of the Pilgrim. Unusual it is Labyrinth of Porsenna, the system hydraulic structured in numerous burrows and a big cistern, from which the magnificent Romanesque Cathedral is agreed to. Notably beautiful it is the excursion to the Lake of Chiusi, and a visit doesn't spoil to the Towers of Beccatiquesto and Beccatiquello, ancient Tuscan Umbro boundary, in which in the night of the times such towers were the customs the merchants and the city pay the Customs to go from a Region to the other. |
