AREZZO
The city of arezzo is the chief town of a wide, mid-west tuscan province you can easily reach from Florence(km 80), Siena, (km.65), perugia,(km.80) and Rome(km205).
Arezzo extends around a gentle slope (296 m at the top) heightening to a large, level, quite circular valley, resulting by the confluence of four natural river basin.
The aretina level land open to west on the Valdarno superiore
, to south-west on the Valdichiana, ample river valleys shaped by the homonyms flows.to the north it receive the mouth of casentino, a narrow intermontano river basin, at the east a low mountain split it by the valtiberina superior side. at A succession of hills and mountains, belonging to the Appennines of tuscany and umbria, overtop
the aretina valley , demarcating its perimeter: to west, the low reliefs wich open to the Chianti, to north-west the slops of the massif of Pratomagno, to north-east, the “alpe of Catenaria”, to the east the “alpe of Poti”, to the south the Lignano mountain wich demarcs the plane throug the ramification of the hill of Agazzi.
The bigger stream is the Arno, it outlines a big oxbox 7 km to the north-west of the town before to flow togheter with the water of the canal of the Chiana, creating the artificial basin of Penna.
The city is traversed by two streams: the Castro, that pass through the center, flowing underground, and the Pignone, that almost touch the south\west suburbs.. Nearby, there is Trasimeno lake, 33km to the south of the town, a little/just beyond the boundary line with the territory of Umbria
